The Hamilton Tigers played for just 5 seasons in the early 1920s, and wore 4 different sweaters during that time. Scroll to the 4th and 5th photos in the carousel to see each one. You’d have to be extremely lucky and or wealthy to come by any of these jersey styles. CCM made a Hamilton Tigers 1920-21 replica wool sweater as part of their 1992 CCM Heritage series. This Hamilton Tigers sweater is easily the most rare of the collection.

After years of struggling, the franchise finished first in the league in the 1924-25 season, but a players' strike before the playoffs resulted in the franchise's dissolution. The players’ contracts were then sold to the New York Americans who were a new NHL expansion team at the time.

Back during the NHL’s 75th anniversary season in 1991-92, all of the original 6 NHL teams wore throwback jerseys. These are extremely hard to come by as CCM greatly underestimated their popularity and only made a handful of them for retail sale. In July 1992, CCM announced this line of CCM Heritage hockey sweaters. The sweaters capture the vintage vibe so well, and at a time when the major sports leagues didn't really honour their past with throwback jerseys, this was a terrific first effort.
